One usually goes to school to study, learn moral order, and improve on his or her social skills. School is usually a first step to a person's success in future. A school lays the basic foundations for any person that enrols himself or herself in it and thus it is very important for every human being. However, life in school is long and boring. Our minds usually get tired after long hours of learning. That is how I feel about school. The activities that carry out in our school are usually monotonous. We usually go to school, study, mingle with friends and leave from there. This is how I feel about school. However, occasionally something unusual and interesting may occur in our schools. That is what happened in my school today. As usual I arrived in school at seven o' clock in the morning. After the morning assembly, my class headed for the school pond. We had an assignment on measuring the dimensions on the pond. The school pond was filled with algae and living organisms such as fishes and turtles. My friend and I took out the tools needed to take the measurements. After taking his measuring tape, my friend made his way to the side of the pond to measure the length of the pond. After a few minutes, I followed after my friend to the side of the school pond. As, I neared my friend I accidentally tripped over a stone lying on the floor and fell down. Without my realisation, I accidentally fell on my friend; this resulted in him falling into the pond. Immediately all eyes turned on him. Everyone stared at him in shock. Instead of helping him out, I broke into laughter. Soon all the students around us started giggling at the event that occurred recently. Then I stared into my friend who had fell into the pond. A sense of guilt took over my heart. I felt ashamed as although the boy in the pond was my friend, I was laughing at him instead of helping him out. I raised out my hand and pulled him out of the pond. Holding my hand, he pulled himself out of the pond. Apologising to him, we walked together with him to the toilet to get him dried. I was glad that he did not blame me for what I did and I was happy that we were friends again. |
